                                      ENERGY SAVING TIPS

  • Switch off the lights, fans and all appliances after use. Switch off TV, Music System etc, when not in use. (in stand-by mode it consume unnecessary electricity)
  • Use CFL instead of Bulbs & Tubes and always keep them clean.
  • Use low wattage light at the places like lavatory, varanda, bedroom etc.
  • Avoid usage of appliances like Iron, Mixer, Electric Geyser between 6p.m and 10p.m
  • Make the optimum use of natural daylight, if needed rearrange your living room to expose to more daylight, paint your internal walls in light color for better light reflection.
  • Unplug the iron 3 to 4 minutes before you finish ironing. Heat remained can be used to iron light clothes.
  • Think before pressing the elevator button each time, because one pressing will cost 3-6 baht of electricity.
  • Use electronic chokes and regulators
  • Keep the fridge off while going out for more than one day.
  • Set the thermostat of fridge on medium cool position, Regularly defrost the fridge maintain proper distance between fridge and wall, don’t overload the fridge than it’s capacity.
  • Placing a hot item or a covering cloth atop the fridge obstructs the ventilation system and require more electricity to maintain coolness.
  • The more times you open the refrigerator more you pay for the electricity. When you open the refrigerator the inner cold air will flow out, causing the compressor to work harder to maintain the temperature set and thus more electricity is consumed.
  • Switch off on air conditioner on cooler after sufficient temperature, clean AC filter every month and use coloured or film coated glasses for windows.
  • Always set the thermostat of AC at 200C to cut down on electricity consumption by 15-20%.
  • Use washing machine with its washing capacity. Use minimum time & water possible, for washing.
  • Switch off the computer when not in use, or activate sleep mode instead of screen saver, Always choose a computer with on “Energy Star” label to save upto 55% of electricity.
